pace 意为“速度、节奏”，notes 意为“笔记”。合起来指“关于行驶节奏/速度的笔记”。该用法主要源自汽车拉力赛：车手与领航员在正式比赛前进行勘路（recce），把路线信息编码成简短口令，比赛中由领航员实时朗读，以“设定节奏”并降低风险。
